Icon of Pardubice in a New Light. PSN to Open the Grand Department Store on October 29

Already in the 1930s, the Grand was conceived as a vibrant city center. PSN is reviving that original idea – through a sensitive renovation led by the OVA studio, which has merged Gočár’s architecture with contemporary design and modern standards. The result is a place that naturally continues the unique spirit of Pardubice. When preparing the project, we drew inspiration from the needs of the public. The new Grand will offer 29 units with more than 3,500 m² of retail and service space. Its centerpiece is a 760 m² food hall, complemented by the boutique CineStar cinema, restaurants from the Together group, and other brands. On the third floor, under a glass dome, there is a coworking space – an environment that connects work with architecture. Comfort is enhanced by a new parking garage with 269 spaces. A new glass hall facing Třída Míru opens the Grand to the city. Its dominant feature will be a glass art installation created by the Czech glassworks Lasvit. The architects from OVA worked with original materials – marble, geometric tiles, and light fixtures – and complemented them with contemporary elements. The reconstruction of the Grand required an investment of approximately CZK 300 million. The construction work involved regional companies from the Enteria group. “Our ambition was to create a space that becomes a natural part of city life. The Grand combines commerce, culture, and work, returning to Pardubice one of its most valuable architectural icons,” concludes Ondřej Heřman, Director of PSN’s Pardubice branch.
