At this year’s Designblok 2025, the young Czech brand MIRA MAKERS will present its first original lighting collection, created in collaboration with renowned glass artist Vlastimil Šenkýř. Under the name Mira Makers by Vlastimil Šenkýř, a series of light objects has been born – combining hand-blown glass, contemporary design, and the poetic qualities of light.
The collection will be showcased for the first time from October 7 to 12 at Křižík Pavilion B, stand KB.32.
Two Collections, Two Faces of the Universe
The collaboration between MIRA MAKERS and Vlastimil Šenkýř has given rise to two distinct lighting series – METEORITES and PARALLEL UNIVERSE. While Meteorites evoke the mysterious beauty of celestial bodies, symbols of the unknown and cosmic wonder, Parallel Universe consists of glass spheres with mirrored surfaces that create the illusion of infinite space. Both collections share a fascination with the unseen, exploring the interplay of light, reflection, and imagination.
Crystal Valley: Where Tradition Comes Alive
MIRA MAKERS is based in Crystal Valley, a region with more than 460 years of glassmaking tradition. It is here that their light installations come to life – blending artisanal craftsmanship with modern technology and refined design. “Our goal is to create objects that bring people not only light, but also an experience,” says the MIRA MAKERS team. “Each project is a story we tell through glass and light.”
The financial support for this project marks another step in PSN’s long-term strategy to connect the worlds of architecture, design, and art. At PSN, we believe that the fusion of tradition and innovation is the key to creating meaningful projects. Supporting talented creators like MIRA MAKERS and Vlastimil Šenkýř is our natural way of contributing to the growth of Czech culture and design.
