Cinema Přítomnost hosted a special screening of the Oscar-winning documentary Mr. Nobody Against Putin for our colleagues, friends, and their guests. The screening was followed by a discussion with the filmmakers and a special guest – the original Oscar statuette.
At PSN, we have long supported projects that open up important social issues and bring perspectives worth talking about. That is also why we supported the creation of this documentary, which authentically captures present-day Russia through the eyes of teacher Pavel Talankin – a man who chose to stand up against a system of propaganda and document the reality around him. This year, the film won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature and has become one of the most powerful documentary works of recent years. It offers a deeply personal testimony about life in contemporary Russia and about the strength an individual can have when choosing not to remain silent.
We are proud to have been part of a project that encourages an important social debate and reminds us of the values of freedom, responsibility, and personal courage.
