The Vinohradská 8 project has been recognized in the inaugural edition of the Shapes of 2025 awards, which highlight outstanding achievements in architecture and real estate development. In the office buildings category, the project impressed an expert jury composed of leading figures in the field, including Dutch architect Winy Maas.
The awards ceremony took place on March 26, 2026, at the Clam–Gallas Palace in Prague. The awards are organized by SHAPES magazine, which connects architecture, development, design, and art, creating a platform for professionals across these disciplines to meet and exchange.
A Project That Goes Beyond the Building Itself
Vinohradská 8 is being developed on the site of the former Transgas complex in collaboration with Penta Real Estate, based on a design by Jakub Cigler Architekti. The new multifunctional urban block will offer office, retail, and residential spaces for more than one thousand users. The ambition of the project is not only to deliver high-quality architecture, but also to enhance the surrounding area and strengthen the connection between Vinohrady and Wenceslas Square. The location presents significant challenges, with railway tunnels running beneath the site and the Czech Radio buildings in close proximity.
The design is based on the principle of a city block with an internal courtyard, naturally integrating into the structure of Prague’s city center. Emphasis is placed on openness, permeability, and the creation of high-quality public and semi-public spaces. The Shapes of 2025 award confirms the project’s significance within the context of contemporary architecture and development - not only in terms of the building itself, but also its impact on the surrounding urban environment.
We are proud that Vinohradská 8 is part of the first edition of the awarded projects at Shapes of 2025.
