Five Questions, One Project: Ondřej Králík on the Reconstruction of the Grand Department Store

The reconstruction of the iconic functionalist Grand Palace in Pardubice has received the prestigious ThePrime Awards in the category Best Reconstruction Project. The project restores the original scale and spatial quality of this historic building by Josef Gočár, while at the same time opening a new chapter in its life for today’s visitors. As part of the series Five Questions, One Project, we asked five questions to architect Ondřej Králík from the OVA studio. In his answers, he reflects on what most influenced his design approach, how the project engages with the legacy of Gočár’s architecture, and which details visitors should pay attention to when exploring the Grand.

Sales Launch of Želivského 3: Renovated Apartment Building in Žižkov to Offer 30 Units

Sales have officially launched for the residential project Želivského 3, created through the complete renovation of a traditional apartment building in one of Prague 3’s long-established and sought-after neighbourhoods. The project will deliver a total of 30 units, the majority designed as 2-bedroom apartments with kitchenette – currently the most in-demand layout in the Czech residential market.

Grand Pardubice Wins ThePrime Awards for Best Reconstruction Project

Yesterday, we received the ThePrime Awards in the category Best Reconstruction Project for the reconstruction of the Grand department store in Pardubice. Grand, a functionalist palace designed by architect Josef Gočár, is one of the most significant buildings in the city centre. Our goal was to build on its architectural value while creating a modern space that meets the needs of today’s Pardubice.

PSN acquires a large-scale site in Brno from E.ON and will restore its residential function

Through its Brno branch, PSN is finalising the acquisition of two extensive sites in Brno currently owned by the energy company E.ON. The transaction between two strong brands confirms PSN’s long-term strategy focused on the revitalisation of urban locations and further strengthens its position as one of the leading players on the real estate market. The majority of the buildings are located on Cejl Street, while additional properties are being acquired in the immediate vicinity of the emerging Brno Jedna project. In total, PSN will transform brownfield sites covering an area of six hectares into a modern residential district that will combine original apartment buildings with contemporary residential development. On the newly acquired plots, spanning 1.5 hectares, the developer plans to build up to 400 apartments.
